So I read a lot of books over the course of a year. (I'm thinking I'm going to end up around 125 this year.) I usually post the list of everything I've read, but I don't usually talk much about them except for the occasional OMG-who-published-this-garbage rant. If I started doing capsule reviews as I read stuff, would anybody want to read them? Or would you skip right over them in favor of reading my occasional OMG-coworker-what-were-you-thinking rants or OMG-subconcious-what-the-heck-made-you-dream-that rants?

I'll read anything you write, but I think I'm a special case here.

I'd read them. In particular, I always like the best-books-of-the-year lists...

Well, there's one coming in a week.

I'm finishing up book #123 either today or tomorrow morning. I'm kind of irrationally fixated on getting through 125 this year. If I were commuting normally for the next two weeks, it wouldn't be a problem, but I'm not quite sure how much reading time I'm getting over the holidays.

Read a couple of children's books! They're fun, and only take 20 minutes or so :)

Unfortunately, I do not actually have time to acquire any additional books, since I don't have any on hand. I've got a pile of adult books available, and no time to go to a library or bookstore in the next couple weeks.

Depending on how busy I am at work, I would. Particularly if they are rants. :)

Wait--if they're bitchy, are you more or less likely to read them?

Ooo, I'd love to read your reviews!

I would totally read them. I already read scads of book blogs, and I love reading what other people think of books. It's how I work up my altogether too heavy reading list...

Oh, my reading list. Is almost as long as the books I've read this year list. And I only chip away at it little bit by little bit, since most of what I read is actually stuff from the library and friends and book swaps. (I can't really afford the money or space to acquire all the books I read in a year...)

I mostly read things I've borrowed, too, and I just don't read that much anymore, sadly. Too much else to do...

As long as they don't spoil plot synopses, I'd read them!

I promise any spoilers will be behind well marked cuts.

I'd definitely read them! I love talking about books. Alas, I seem to go warm and cold on books - I'll binge for a few weeks and go through half a dozen, and then stop and read nothing as I try to catch up on work for months.

See, I've got about an hour and a half of commute every day, so I read at a pretty steady pace.

It would depend on how busy I am, and how closely our literary tastes match. :) I always look through updates I get on Goodreads though. Have you considered using that service? I find it very helpful to keep track of what my friends and I are reading, and sometimes I post short reviews/reactions.

This is somewhat less about deeply needing to share my book views and more about wanting some more content to post about.

I'd read your reviews. I'm usually on the lookout for a book to read before I go to sleep each night.

I'd read them. In particular, I'm on the lookout for good books that my friends enjoyed and that they can explain why they particularly enjoyed them. "Author and publisher, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!" reviews can be funny, and if they also explain why you detested the book then they're useful too. My view is that often one person detests a book that another person loves, so for a review to be useful to me, I need to hear about the "why", so I can judge for myself whether I think that factor would be a major influence for me. I wouldn't expect you to write 125 book reviews, so I'd imagine you'd save the effort for your top favorites, and perhaps the occasional hilariously bad one.

Having said that (since you were asking for your friends' opinions), teh fact is I'd read anything you wrote, because I enjoy your writing style.

I second his point - I just like reading your posts, period. :)

I'd read them! I'd love to know what you liked and didn't like in terms of books. I don't read nearly as much as I should anymore, and could use some guideposts. ^_^

Well, I think it looks like I'm writing some book reviews.
