Dancing in the streets
Jun. 28th, 2006 10:18 amChuckro and I went out for a lovely evening last night. We hit a trendy little Mediterranean restaurant with funky lighting and fun drinks (mmm, lichee martini) and tasty tasty food.
Then we headed up to Lincoln Center. They do this great program every summer called Midsummer Night Swing. They get bands to come play most nights of the week (and some of them are actually fairly big names) - a mix of swing and Latin, some salsa and tango. You can pay $15 for a lesson and access to the dance floor. But you can still hear the music in the rest of the plaza, so it's free if you don't mind slightly uneven pavement. Last night was a big band swing night. It's a lot of fun - dancing outside with lots of other people to excellent live music.
We got ice cream on the way home. An excellent evening.
