Roaming again
Jun. 27th, 2006 01:08 pmSlow day in the office, very cold. Took a walk during lunch. I'm really enjoying this whole roaming Manhattan thing. Got all the way to the UN today - I wasn't really planning on anything in particular, didn't actually even know where the UN was. I saw a big break in the buildings with trees, headed for it, and then realized what all the flags were. There's a heck of a wind in the city today, especially when you get near the river. Made walking a little hard, but the flags certainly looked jaunty. On the way back, I stumbled on Katherine Hepburn park, which has lovely fountains in what look like giant wrought-iron birdcages.
It's a pretty, pretty city.
