Please stop wilting. I need you for mojitos tomorrow. I recut your stems so you can drink your nice water. It worked for the hydrangeas - maybe it will work for you, too. Please drink up and stop wilting, ok?

There's no reason why they shouldn't have been able to keep when triaged, cleaned, bottoms freshly snipped, and put in a glass of water (like a vase) in the fridge. They're plants, they should be able to survive for awhile like any other cut flower or leaf. I've done this with herbs plenty of times before, with no issues. They were wilting in under two days.

The only reason it wouldn't have worked is if they were already old when we bought them. Which, given our supermarket and its substandard produce, is fairly likely.
