I'm going to try to stay closer to beastin's method, really. Especially since half my coworkers, including my boss' boss, are on Facebook, it turns out.
Little bit scary. What would Miss Manners say, for example, about friending or not friending the department head of another department who you're friendly with but very much subordinate to? (No, I didn't friend the guy.)
I'm mostly doing it to keep in the loop with the people who update Facebook and don't have livejournals. My mom is on Facebook, and she knew about one of my old friends from high school getting divorced before I did.
