Things learned today:

1) People coming out of a museum on a record attendance day really don't want to stop to take a survey for the museum.

2) Once they're committed to the survey, however, they're remarkably pleasant and friendly.

3) People are surprisingly delighted by cheap tchotchkies given as a free gift for taking a survey.

4) The museum's aging ventilation systems are not up to dealing with record-breaking attendance. (Oh dear god, it was hot in the main halls today.)

5) The online requisition system is going to totally rock and make my life so much easier when it comes fully online.

6) I'm far better at requisitioning things online than getting people to fill out surveys.

I'm fairly sure #6 is true of anyone moderately competent with computers and not incredibly charismatic and extroverted. Cha-Int > 7, or something like that.

#1 thing I'm looking forward to this summer is intranet and information services designed by a higher order mammal than a trained monkey. A coding system that doesn't end up listing everything not actual litigation documents as "Memos" would help.
