No wedding dreams last night. What we did have was someone leaning on the door buzzer at 3 am. When we tried to talk to them, all we heard was the mailboxes rattling. If you strangled someone for ringing your buzzer at three in the morning, would it be justifiable homicide?

I give that an unqualified YES. They tamper with the sleep, they wake the beast. Not your fault at all.

Not in New York, but it would probably count as defense of property in Texas or Florida.

Given that your mailboxes are inside the building, you could shoot him for unlawful trespassing in Texas for sure :-p
