23. The Citadel of Weeping Pearls by Aliette de Bodard. 4. I haven't read the others in this series (or I think maybe I read a short story in this universe?) so I think I missed some details, but it mostly holds up fine on its own. Lovely SF meditation on family and memory via sentient spaceships, murder investigations, and potential time travel in a Vietnamese-based far future empire.
24. Witches Abroad by Terry Pratchett. 3.5. The earlier Pratchetts are fun and funny, but far more pastiche/broad strokes satire than the later, more sophisticated works. Most of this is excuse to satirize half a dozen fairy tales.
