ARR had been talking endlessly about April Fools and the pranks the various Pokemon he likes to play pretend about were going to play on each other. So I actually did a half-decent job of April Fool's Day last week. I started by taping a garbage bag over the top of his door and filling it with balloons, so when he opened his door in the morning, he got showered in balloons reading "April Fool's". Then I also did the Jell-O trick - I let him have some of the Crystal Lite he likes for lunch, only it turned out to be red Jell-O in the cup, complete with a straw frozen in. He was delighted. Last year, I pretty much whiffed things (it was a bad time; I realized too late what day it was, tried to swap the clothes in his drawer for his dad's, only didn't realize he'd already gotten dressed and the prank made no sense. As I said, it was a bad time.)

You mean, don't turn into a snake (because you know they love snakes) and then when they pick you up don't go "Arg, it's me!" and stab them?
