So, in the last decade, in a very short list, I:

- had a kid
- bought a house
- had both my sibling and sibling-in-law get married
- changed jobs and then changed jobs again and have more than doubled my salary
- sold 14 short stories
- wrote two complete novels, tried to revise one and then trashed it, and am revising a fourth
- sold none of those
- went to a ton of cool places: Italy, Costa Rica, Iceland, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Israel twice, Australia, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Czechia, Canada multiple times, and a bunch of random cities in the US
- made a lot of very cool desserts
- did successfully help some people in some important ways

I think that's a pretty good decade, overall.

2018 was a shitshow, so really, 2019 mostly had to be better. And it was, for most of the people I know. I did accomplish a number of my goals overall from last year, but backslid on a number, too. The professional goals...did not pan out. At all. This stupid conference has eaten my professional life and I'm currently very frustrated. I've made some progress on creating new stuff on the writing front, but very little on getting much of it published. I'm definitely in worse physical shape, and I have not been able to sustain some of the public service stuff, both partially because of the aforementioned conference.

So 2020 is partially continuing to try to keep up all the stuff - parenting and being a good wife and friend and citizen, trying to get creative work out into the world. But also something needs to change on the professional front, and I'm not quite sure how that will play out. I also need to perhaps be more focused on some of my goals - I can't actually do ALL the things, as much as I might want to.
