Why am I so convinced that it's Wednesday today?

I'm bored. Bored out of my skull. The stuff I'm doing right now needs to be done, but is unfathomably mind-numbing. I keep hoping that sky pirates will crash through the window or something. With monkeys, if I'm really lucky.

This is where listening to NPR on the web always saves me. Trust me, I wouldn't have been able to do so many sudoku books if I didn't have Ira Glass's dulcet tones in my ear.

I've started bringing CDs full of mp3s to work, and listing to them during repetitive tasks. They make life much more pleasant when typing numbers into spreadsheets.
