Looking over older posts, I used to post shorter amusing stuff, rather than long posts that need more time to write. Maybe I should do more of that. I do really like going over my old posts, even if the community has mostly died.
But at the moment I'm frustrated. I'm in the middle slog of writing a new book, and I'm stuck. A bunch of the characters have kind of cut loose from their original concepts but haven't resolidified - they're kind of floating around doing what needs to be done for the plot but without actually having personality of their own. Some plot threads I'd started aren't going anywhere. I need to go back and fix some stuff, but I can't seem to decide whether to keep pushing forward now and go back and fix later, or fix now so the new stuff is more in line. I'm kind of thrashing around. It's...not great.
