I've been prioritizing a lot of stuff over this, obviously. Writing. Lego Lord of the Rings. Work and friend drama.
- Latest book is out on a half dozen agents' desks. We'll see what happens there.
- First attempt at selling books at a con was...meh. I mean, I had a good time, but Heliosphere was not particularly well attended and everyone in the dealer's room was grumbling. But I did my best.
- Finally got around to getting headshots done, so the next time I have to send one I've got something other than my LinkedIn corporate shot. Apparently having overseen a lot of photo and video shoots paid off, because the photographer was delighted at my already knowing my angles and enough about lighting that we got through things really fast.
- ARR is on a major dinosaur kick, eclipsing the Transformers obsession. I took him to AMNH a couple months ago (February, maybe?). I gave up a couple weeks ago and just bought the family membership. That first visit kicked off a huge obsession with both dinos and the big bang. (Oh, I'm so proud.) He now knows WAY MORE ABOUT DINOSAURS THAN YOU. Like do you remember which period Elasmosaurus was from? I didn't think so.
- Chuckro and I went to an Indigo Girls concert on Thursday. It was delightful (although the audience was really rude and talked loudly through softer songs.) They did "Kid Fears" which I really had not expected. (The audience sang the Michael Stipe part.)
- ARR and Chuckro took Papa to ARR's first baseball game. (Papa's birthday present.) Apparently it went very well.
- We continue to have all the children's birthday parties. Unfortunately, a lot of the latest batch are 4pm starts, which tend to be much crankier. The last one involved making your own pizza AND an arcade AND a face painter AND a balloon artist AND an Indian dance party. (When they turned off the KidzBob album, which led with a remake of "What Does the Fox Say" and got played something like 4 times and put on the Indian music, I almost cheered.)
