The fish rocket was a qualified success.
Explanation: ARR and I got Chuckro a basket for grilling fish on the barbeque. It's shaped kind of like a tennis racket, so ARR very excitedly exclaimed to Chuckro while presenting him with the wrapped gift, "Guess what? It's a fish rocket!" I think that's the permanent name.
Anyway, we tried it out tonight. Fish comes out delicious. ARR was being a great helper until the end...when he grabbed the fish rocket with his bare hand. Cue one hysterical preschooler. He's fine, thank goodness--after a few minutes with his hand under running water, it's not even red. That could have been a lot worse. I guess it was lucky, as accidents go--hopefully now he'll actually believe us when we remind him not to touch the stove or grill, and there was no real damage.
Funny story with the purchasing of said basket--I bought it a few days before Chuckro's birthday, or the third week of May. The salespeople looked at me dubiously; they didn't know if the grilling stuff had come in yet. You shouldn't be buying grill stuff until July, apparently. Never mind it had been warm enough to grill for weeks.
Yesterday, I went to go buy the bottom of a bathing suit. (The top of my old bathing suit is fine, but the elastic collapsed on the bottom.) This is the first week of June. The salespeople looked at me dubiously; they only had one rack of clearance things left. You shouldn't be buying bathing suits after May, apparently. Never mind it's only been warm enough to swim for maybe a week.
I hate fashion.
