Every time I do the big Christmas baking spree, I end up feeling a little hungover. I think some of it's dehydration, after standing next to the stove for ten hours or so. I think some of it might actually be from inhaling sugar fumes.
Continuing in "ARR is uncertain about holiday parties"--I took him to a town kids' holiday party. He demanded to leave three minutes. I managed to convince him to go into the puppet show (although I had to carry him in, reassuring all the way). Fortunately, everyone sitting and making less noise seemed to help with the overwhelmedness. He liked the puppet show, and seemed to be interested in the spin art, but we bailed soon after.
