Some time in the middle of the night, the computer restarted itself and tried to restore what was on the desktop (I think?). Which included a paused YouTube video. So I was roused from sleep by the dulcet tones of "The Wheels on the Bus".

After stumbling downstairs to shut it off, I tried to get back to sleep. As I was drifting off, I dreamt I heard the pitter patter of little feet. Not what you want to hear in the middle of the night. Woke up. Was just a dream. But my brain continued to insist I heard ARR every time I started to fall asleep again.

Finally fell asleep.

Which is when the fire alarm in the new building behind us went off. Ear piercing shrieks, flashing lights. Followed a little while later by the fire trucks from multiple directions. They finally shut off the alarm. (It does not appear there was much of an actual fire, if any. It's not the first false alarm from that building.)

And then I couldn't fall back to sleep until probably around 5:30...when ARR woke up.

Dreams that are convincingly life-like are the worst. While it's no fun to be chased by meaningless monsters, they're at least comfortably silly and easily dismissed. Not so yours, alas. I've been there. I had a dream the other night that my cat was headbutting me in the face all night. I'm not sure if it was real or not?

Agreed. I woke up with a start the other night - around 3am I think? - heart pounding thinking I'd heard a little girl say, "Why are we in this apartment, Mommy?" It took me forever to fall asleep again.

I've been having trouble sleeping as well. And I was doing so well last week! But I've been trying to adjust myself to EDT, and that hasn't been going well. My set of weird dreams included being a bridesmaid in Stan's wedding [Stan didn't even have a wedding], and being late to the ceremony. Then I went back to sleep and was a bridesmaid in another friend's wedding (Josh? Can't remember.) And late to the ceremony again. Both times other people were late with me. I don't understand. It does not take that long to get ready and I am not that disorganized. ._.; And last night, well, I should've taken Tylenol at the beginningof the night instead of at 6am 'cuz that worked out much better... It's a recurring problem, somehow I'm always dumb enough when half-asleep to not take the Tylenol until it's 6am. And now I'm traumatized by trying to sleep, and commenting on LJ posts to avoid trying. >.<;;
