Beach day

Other than my grandmother totaling her car (she's fine, haven't heard any more detail on the car), we had an amazing beach day yesterday. ARR loves the beach. We made the Winchester Mystery Road. (Every time we finished part, it had to be demolished and rebuilt as something else.) We dug a large hole. We found tiny clams and itty bitty fish and sand crabs. We wrote in the sand. All the trucks got to drive around and dig in the sand. We drew in the sand. ARR was deeply concerned about the waves for awhile, but I finally coaxed him into the water and he loved it. I finally had to haul him out because his entire body was trembling with cold and then as soon as he'd warmed up again, he wanted to go back in. And I kept him from getting sunburned. (I failed to prevent myself from getting sunburned, because I was distracted looking after him, but he's ok at least.)

Then we came back to the house and played with lots and lots of gravel and pine cones. And had hot dogs and multiple ears of corn on the cob and birthday cake.

Clearly the best day ever.
