Water-logged

Went up to Boston for my little brother's commissioning and graduation. Well, commissioning, at least. Apparently it's been monsoon season in Boston lately. We did go to the commissioning, which was lovely. So my little brother is a lieutenant now. And we had a very nice party for him afterward. But it was pouring this morning - and he decided that he didn't really want to go ruin his uniform standing in an open stadium with a couple thousand people listening to speakers he didn't care about while the sky dumped water on him. So we had breakfast and headed home.

I'm home rather early...and I'm not sure what to do with myself now.

we're flooded so much that all roads out from our apartment are blocked and we have to park fairly far away from our lake of a parking lot. but yay for your brother!

I'm so sorry for the Bostonians. This is entirely my brother's fault, though. His high school graduation involved floods and thunderstorms and my parents getting back something like two or three hours later than scheduled. I had just come home from college, and I had no idea what my parents had planned for the party, and suddenly I have a houseful of relatives and I'm trying to puzzle out from what's in the fridge what my mother had planned on serving. It was a nightmare, for pretty much everyone involved.

So it's only fitting that his college graduation also be marked by ludicrous amounts of water falling from the sky.

If it makes you feel better, he's safely graduated now, and it should stop relatively soon.

What sucks the most, I left Seattle partially to get away from weeks on end with no sun.
