Eventful uneventful weekend.
- When in the right mood, ARR can identify many letters. All the letters in the word "FARM" for example. (Only uppercase so far.) He can also sing the entire alphabet song, with the exception of the "LMNOP" part that gets kind of a "ba ba ba ba P". He's completely obsessed with letters, although he's not reliably getting the mapping part yet--while he can identify individual letters, he still will sing the song and point at each letter in a block of text in turn, assigning each letter in order without actually paying attention to the letter in question. He gets that you sing the song and point out letters, but I don't think he realizes the song identifies the letters. (So if you're wearing a shirt that says, say, "PRINCETON", he will delightedly point to the letters saying "ABCD!" and then sing the song. "A" (points to P) "B" (points to R) "C" (points to I) "D" (points to N)...) But if you point to an M in isolation and ask him what letter it is, he'll shout "M!" with great glee.
- I did something nasty to my back on Friday and have been kind of hobbling along all weekend. I actually took today off to spend more time lying down. (Toddlers are not kind to back injuries.)
- ARR managed to get away from Chuckro yesterday and fell down the stairs. He's completely fine as far as we can tell (doesn't even have any visible bruises), but was utterly terrified and spent about 15 minutes wailing inconsolably. It's ok. We were also utterly terrified and spent about 15 minutes wanting to wail inconsolably. Almost everyone I know fell down the stairs as a kid, but it still doesn't make us feel any better.

Date: 2014-11-28 09:01 pm (UTC)From:Poor little guy falling down the stairs :( It's so scary when they fall off things. We don't have stairs, but T likes to climb onto the bed and jump on it, and I'm constantly terrified he's going to fall off and deck his head on the other furniture.
