I gave Chuckro plenty of time to post these, and he didn't, so I'm going to steal his stories.
ARR is clearly enjoying daycare, specifically the part where he has compatriots. The other day, Chuckro went to pick him up. ARR was sitting with his butt inside a bookshelf, holding a book. But he was holding it face out, leaning over to point at various points of interest and narrating. ("Ba.") Around him sat a semi-circle of his devotees-I-mean-peers, raptly enjoying storytime.
This is in contrast to a few days later, when he and another toddler were attempting to break into a crib by swinging from one to another. Or several weeks ago, when he tried to lead a jailbreak. (It turns out that toddlers cannot, in fact, operate a fire door, no matter how many of them there are and how earnestly they push at it. The world's cracker supply remains safe.)
In other news, our babysitter is apparently the most well-connected person we know. We were surprised a couple months ago when a friend of ours walked in...and revealed they'd gone to grad school together. Yesterday, the babysitter was walking ARR down the street and ran into a neighbor a few doors down, who has a one-year-old (who ARR already delivered a drive-by hug to)...and revealed they'd gone to undergrad together. It's a small, small world.
