Goddamn sirens

Something big clearly went down, since about six vehicles went screaming by with sirens, leaning on their horns all the way to the hospital. Which is, I'm sure, terrible for someone and I feel bad for them. But right now I have a screaming baby who was woken up by this and has been hysterical for about half an hour now and we can't get him calmed back down again. Crap.

You'd think someone would have invented earplugs for babies by now.

They have them for swimming, but I suspect most babies wouldn't sleep well in them.

He actually generally sleeps through most noises. We live diagonally from a hospital, so we get sirens all the time, and they usually don't bother him. But this was deafening, way more than usual.
