May! Gosh. I guess things are very different in more sane parts of the world, where you don't have to submit an offer for 100K more than the asking price, the day after the open house, with no contingencies (neither financial nor inspection-related) in order to buy a house.
We actually only had to go $5k over the ask, at least. But that doesn't mean it was cheap, just that the ask was appropriate. And while we waived the appraisal, we still get an inspection.
But it still was a five way bidding war (which we won partially because we weren't contingent on selling the place we're in now), and they made a decision 8 days after going on the market.
