Another buyer swooped in and outbid us. We could have gotten into a bidding war, but we didn't think the place was worth more to us than what we'd settled on. So we will not be living there. I'm not devastated, although I am disappointed. I really, really liked the place. I was worried about the flood risk. I'm not seeing anything else on the market at the moment that I'm super thrilled with, although there are one or two that might be worth a look. Starting over. Sigh.

In other news, ARR got bit at daycare again. Different biter. (It's on his hand, and I kind of wonder if he stuck his hand in some other kid's mouth.) I do not cover my child in a candy shell, I swear. It's not my fault he's so delicious.

Also, he likes sardines. No, I take that back. He loves sardines. The pediatrician had been on us to get him more omega-3s, he hated the nutritional supplement she recommended, and I remembered a Nicholas Day column awhile back where he claimed his kids loved sardines. They're cheap, small oily fish are supposed to be super healthy, the skinless boneless kind require basically no prep to be baby-friendly, I figured it was worth a try. I'll admit, I'm kind of surprised how well they went over. He was a very happy baby. A very happy baby who smells vaguely of fish.

Just keep him away from the edges of dolphin pools, and all will be well.

He was also shoveling in spinach sauteed in olive oil and lemon juice by the handful two nights ago.

When he goes through his anti-veggie stage, you'll be able to legit tell him that he used to love them.
