At work, I work in one room which is separated by glass from the room most of my colleagues work in. They have the big windows. But I've found the advantage of my side - I'm not freezing.

For months, the other room has been at least 10 degrees colder than my room (and the rest of the office). No one could explain why - the building maintenance guy swore it was all in our heads. Then in the last few weeks (after we'd changed air conditioning units), the air conditioning in the server room started failing.

It turns out that the server room air conditioner is pumping half the cold air...into the room next to mine. No wonder it's always so damn cold! We've been air conditioning it for months.

Of course, they're not sure if it can be fixed...

They should just get a little heat fan. That's what I do at work--it's often too cold in my office, especially in the winter, and not only can I not control the airflow, it's tough given the building design for people who have control to get it right. So I heat my own little office myself, and it all works out. :)

The big problem, really, is that the server room is overheating because the air conditioner is trying to cool an extra room.
