Guess who joined the 21st century?

Finally got a smartphone. (A Droid Mini, if anyone cares.)

This only happened because my trusty little flip phone from, oof, 2004? had a hinge break. I probably would have stayed with it forever, otherwise. It served me well. G'night, little buddy.

So far, so good, I suppose. I do like my new phone. But I liked the old one, too.

I guess I'm particularly curious whether you find yourself able to resist the siren call of email and other notifications long enough to step back and look at the world occasionally...

I like email, but I also deeply resent the idea that we're supposed to be connected 24/7. So far, the phone's living in my purse most of the time. I take it out for specific tasks, and then it goes right back in again.

I've had a Blackberry for years, and I've got access to Chuckro's smartphone when I'm around him, so it's not like I've never had connectivity before.
