Title: The Serpent's Tale
Author: Ariana Franklin
Genre: Historical mystery (medieval)
Thingummies: 4
Synopsis: When Henry II's mistress is murdered, doctor Adelia finds herself snowbound in a convent with a rebellious queen and a killer.
Thoughts: More well-researched mayhem with the good Sicilian doctor. Adelia continues to be tart and charming, as are most of her supporting cast. The flaw of the previous book, in which the author tells us that Adelia knows information but refuses to tell us, is still here. This is not the type of mystery in which you can figure out what happened yourself, really--it's more thriller-ish. But it's a fun thriller. I'm not sure if we'll see one of the villains again, but I wouldn't mind.
