I've never had so much "free" time and been so unable to get anything done. Every time I try to sit down (or stand up or lie down) to do something specific, the little guy needs me. But I have enormous amounts of time spent gently bouncing or feeding where I'm just watching My Little Pony or trying to read. You'd think being forced to consume media instead of doing anything else would be fun, but I'm mostly just frustrated. Also, tired. With the exception of one three hour period after we gave him his second bottle of formula last night, he's wanted to eat approximately every 20 minutes since 7:30 last night...

I have heard this is the most frustrating part of parenthood...

At least you got a nap in the afternoon?

Well, at least it's front-loaded. Of course, fussiness is supposed to peak around weeks 6-8, so the worst is probably still to come...

I suspect this is the reason why our parents had kids close together--get all of this out of the way at once.

It's definitely appealing.

Audiobooks?

Also, I'm more than happy to bring by books from the library :) I have access to most of the university libraries here in NYC as well as the public ones which is ... most books, I think.

I've been listening to podcasts, but that doesn't help me get chores done.

I'll keep the library offer in mind - thanks!

You'll only get better at doing things one-handed, not to worry. My sister can dress one kid one-handed while feeding/burping the other these days. Also, what happened to your sling? Can you tuck the little guy away in there for twenty-minutes at a time to do your errands or does that get in the way too much? There's gotta be some sort of papoose you can create to keep him and his needs addressed while doing other stuff, right?
