Really, Smidge? You're already demanding middle-of-the-night feedings? You're not even out yet!
Oh man, this kid is going to be made of peanut butter. It's not that I've been craving peanut butter specifically, it's more a generalized protein craving that's ebbed and flowed for nine months now and peanut butter is one of the most convenient ways to get protein fast. (Yes, my doctor is totally on board with the peanut/tree nut protein plan--she'd suggested upping my nut intake a couple months ago when I was eating everything that wasn't nailed down and putting on weight too fast.) But usually I can put it off until breakfast time. But nooooooo, apparently we needed more at 3am this time...

Date: 2013-01-13 12:10 am (UTC)From:My doctor okayed peanuts/nuts as well, and I eat almond butter just about every day. She said the research is totally contradictory and inconclusive (some of it says that early exposure can reduce the risk of allergies), so the only reason to avoid them is if you already have peanut allergies in the family.
