Preparation day

We hit Buy Buy Baby to start the registry this afternoon. (They're owned by Bed Bath & Beyond, where we did our wedding registry and had been very pleased with. Apparently they accept each other's coupons and store credit, too.) We don't have any of the little stuff on it yet--they were closing early for storm prep and we were totally exhausted and overwhelmed anyway. And we have to go back and edit some stuff--we have multiple car seats on the list that we have to finalize, for one. It's a completely overwhelming process. But we've got a bunch of the big stuff I wanted to see in person (although I forgot to look at diaper bags). We can hopefully fill out the rest online, or I can go back without Chuckro some day after work.

We're sheltering in place again--it worked well for Irene, I don't see this being much different. Our block is a high point in the neighborhood, we're on the third floor, and since they fixed the roof pipes, hopefully we won't lose a corner of the bedroom to water damage again. (That one wasn't even from Irene.) We're sheltered and relatively far from the water. We have plenty of food and water and we've charged all our electronics. Our offices are officially not open, since no public transportation's running tomorrow anyway. I'm supposed to be working from home, but I'd sent myself stuff to work on on Friday.

So we're in good shape, in several ways.

I'm glad that you are prepared and in a safe spot. I'm worried about my parents--they live at the bottom of a hill in a flood zone. They did prepare, though.
