We survived the fall wedding season! (There's still the winter wedding season, but we'll deal with that when we get there.)

D and E's wedding in Boston was lovely, if unconventional. It fit them well. They made baking chocolate cookies part of their ceremony.

Sparticleman and V's wedding yesterday was also lovely, if entirely different. Really beautiful setting at a yacht club, incredibly sweet vows. Also, some of the more gorgeous flowers I've seen at a wedding.

Both were a lot of fun. I did not dance as much as I would have liked to, after that being so wiped out at Edgehopper's earlier in the summer. But there was lots of dancing, and good friends.

And now I'm all wiped out. I apparently burned all of today's allotment of energy yesterday, which is a trade I'm willing to have made but still kinda sucks. I've already taken two naps. Still exhausted. The car got returned and food got bought, but the Halloween costume that was supposed to be made this weekend hasn't even been started. We'll see.

I have also napped. But have not managed to do food shopping. Stupid essay editing.

(Editing, editing. I'm so sick of editing, editing!)

I get that song stuck in my head pretty much everytime I have to edit anything.

I'm managing to very slowly piece together this costume. The fact that I have four and a half yards of fabric and my table has a ginormous centerpiece from the wedding on it means I'm doing it on my hands and knees on the floor, which my tailbone will only tolerate in five minute bursts. But at least I'm finally moving a bit.

The ceremony included an elaborate mad-lib metaphor in which they mixed together ingredients representing various things to make cookie dough. (I'm not sure if it actually got baked--D accidentally put in waaaay too much salt.) The catering company came around at the end of the reception with just-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies.

It will be baked approximately 1 year from now, is the plan. :)
