Out of all the weird shit about pregnancy I have heard tell, this is actually the #1 thing that freaks me out, seeing as I'm already uncomfortable with my belly button. (I had an umbilical hernia repair when I was six).
It'll just make it unrecognizable. Who knows, it might make you like it better. And it's not like anyone besides your doctor and S. have to see it. It's not so bad, really, I promise.
Actually, I'm finding a lot of pregnancy like that, even the unpleasant stuff. Some of it's uncomfortable, but then you're pretty much like "Well, it is what it is. Kinda sucks. It'll stop eventually." And then a lot of it's just strange, and that's pretty much just "Huh. Biology is weird, yo." I'm not going to say this is the most fun thing ever, and while I'm willing to do it again, I wouldn't want to do it more than one or two more times. But it's not so bad. You cope. Given a bunch of other stressful life events and health issues that you've survived, it's totally something you can handle if you chose to.
