Smidgen's earbones started ossifying this week, according to the schedule. So sometime in the next few weeks, he'll start being able to hear me, and eventually other things.

Chuckro and I were talking about the whole classical music for babies thing. He's not particularly interested in jumping on silly fads and trying to play Mozart specifically for Smidgen or anything. I was kind of annoyed because while we listen mostly to a capella and folk and alternative and so on at home, I do actually listen to a lot of classical at work. (Although really more late 19th century Romantics than Mozart.) And I was complaining that I don't get credit for it--I listen to Prokofiev all the time, but it's on headphones, so it's not like Smidge can hear it.

Chuckro's simple suggestion was to stick an earbud in my belly button.

...is that a thing? I don't think I realized that was a thing.

I feel like that probably works better when your normal clothes are a sari.

Well, it was a thing at the Steampunk fair - there were loads of pregnant ladies (and non-pregnant ladies, now that I think about it) getting their bellies hennaed. I don't think it's an actual thing, though, otherwise they'd all be walking around with their pregnant bellies exposed in order to show off the designs, which seems.....unlikely.
