Since I'm putting up photos, I figured I'd finally get around to posting a couple of my Yosemite photos as well.

The Tuolomne River. We started out in Tuolomne Meadows, hiked down the river, then split off to end up hiking up Spiller Canyon.

Fording a creek. Cold. Really, really cold.

Up the canyon.

At the top of the canyon!

Spiller Lake at sunset.

Crossing the snowpack, trying to leave Spiller Lake. (We actually got stranded for an hour or so--when we woke up, the ice was too hard and slippery to cross. We had to hang out by the lake for an hour or two until the sun melted enough for us to get a grip.)

The most beautiful swimming hole in the world. About 500 feet down from the lake, which had ice chunks floating in it. Very, very cold. Yes, I jumped in anyway. Yes, there are photos. No, those are not going on a public site.

There are almost no clouds in the Sierra Nevadas in August, so there's nothing in the sky to catch the sunset. The mountains, fortunately, are happy to stand in.

The Valley is like a fairyland. An overcrowded, almost Disney-like fairyland, but it doesn't keep it from being insanely beautiful. Especially if you get up early enough in the morning that most people are still sleeping.

Vernal Falls. There's a picture of me in a baby backpack going up this trail. My parents were a little nuts, I think. (To be fair, you don't realize how bad the trail gets until you're 3/4 of the way up.) Several people died here the week before we were there, but that's mostly because they were idiots who ignored all the very prominent signs that say not to climb over the rails. They climbed over the rails.

This rainbow was well over 180 degrees, but I could never get it in one shot. Most amazing rainbow ever. Apparently, at certain times of the month, the moon's light is strong enough to make moonbows.

Seriously, this looks like the matte painting for a fantasy movie.

It was an amazing trip. Hard, harder than I expected, I think. (The altitude sickness the first day did not help.) But jaw-dropping. And it looks like only two of the scars are permanent. :) (One on my knee, one on my middle finger. They're not particularly noticable unless you're really looking.)

These are fantastic and make me want to go there too.

Amazing. Just incredibly beautiful.

You have to plan well ahead, though.
