We had our office holiday party last night. Swanky, trendy Thai restaurant followed by swanky, trendy hotel bar. Much fun. Much freezing - I swear, the restaurant was 50 degrees. They claimed that the thermostat was up to 85, but I think they were just losing all their heat through the pretty frosted glass ceiling...

It's a field that's much more about affluence and sociability and the perception of affluence and sociability. We're also small enough that it's not ridiculously expensive to have the entire company sit down at one (long) table in a restaurant and pass around Secret Santa gifts and then go hang out at a bar afterwards.
