I have a Christmas tree!

It's very pretty. And quite thrilling. And sparkly. Did I mention sparkly?

It's also disturbingly tasteful. And not on purpose. I have a small box full of ornaments that I've acquired over the years, and then a couple of boxes of plain balls - blue, purple, and a dark, almost maroon, pink. As I was hanging things up, I realized - pretty much all of the ornaments I own (other than the balls) are white, silver, or gold. The few that are colored are pretty much exactly the colors of the balls. The entire tree matches. It's color-coordinated. And totally unpremeditatedly-so. It looks like I was really anal and went out and bought a bunch of ornaments specifically to make a tasteful, matching tree. (Plus, it kind of matches the decorations I put on the mantle piece next to it. And I think it will match the stockings that I'm making for me and Chuckro.)

I'm not that obsessive compulsive, really! It was an accident!

Ooh, cookies, totally forgot--you can shelac them so they stay preserved and hang them on the tree. My brother has made lots of those in the past (like when he was 3-4). They're really fun additions too.

Ok, I'm not going for a totally tacky tree. And I'm not going to hang ornaments I think are ugly for the heck of it. I'm just kind of amused that apparently my decorating taste is such that things come out matching even when they are gathered over a period of years...

Think of it this way. Obsessive compulsive = consistent. Nothing wrong with consistent right?
