All four humans and the cat made it through the night, and so far there's no water damage. They announced half an hour ago that they were shutting down our power station, but we still have power. Not sure what's up with that.

Glad that you're okay! We (in Fresh Meadows, Queens) had some leaking in the basement, and it's really windy outside, but we still have power.

Fine here, too, though apparently our basement flooded. (FEMA was accurate!) I had my computers unplugged all day and have been reading, but at this point I'm calling it. Computers plugged back in, heavy furniture back on balcony. Probably won't drain the tub till tonight, though. And the PATH site says the trains will start running again at 4AM, so no day off tomorrow. *sigh*

When the power was on and the weather was pretty clear at 8:30am, I turned on the computer. When PSE&G didn't cut power to us by 10am and the storm was pretty much out of the area, I plugged everything else back in.

We walked Xannoside and Skalja home after dinner; it didn't seem like there was any damage to Xannoside's place. And now we're cleaning, and have almost everything back in order.

Still haven't emptied the water jugs, though. No rush on that.

Back home in completely unaffected Lower Manhattan, although tired since we had to catch a 5:45 bus from Bethlehem.

Oof, that's brutal.

Still, given where the flood zones were predicted to be, I think you were very wise.
