So the kale and bacon quiche that kept us up two nights ago? Fabulous. I'm having more for lunch. So, so good.

I'm currently in love with the food blog Love and Olive Oil. This is the source of the Chocolate Banana Cream Pie, the Cookie Dough Cream Pie, the Churro Cupcakes, and the Caramel Banana Cupcakes. And where I got the idea for the Rainbow Cake, which I promptly altered beyond recognition except for the six colors.

Last night, I made Cookie Dough Cupcakes. Do you know what's even more delicious than raw (eggless) cookie dough? Icing made out of raw cookie dough. One of the best icings ever. Nom.

Well, you've got the link to all the sweets recipes now. The kale quiche is based off of this (http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2009/08/crisper-whisperer-what-to-do-with-too-much-kale.html), but with only one cup of cream and four eggs and thick cut bacon, in my own pie crust recipe. (I don't like my quiches super-eggy anyway, and there was no way this recipe was fitting in my pie pan. Really not up for doing a non-special dinner in a springform pan.)

I was underwhelmed by the Caramel Banana cupcakes--I tried making them into Bananas Foster cupcakes with a rum soak and some rum extract, but it didn't really work. They were good, mind you, just not what I was thinking of. The cake is too springy and not banana-y enough, I didn't use enough rum, and I didn't really think the caramel came through in the frosting. Maybe a caramel center?

The others, though, are fabulous. The churro cupcakes are a cinnamon cake with a cinnamon chocolate pudding center and cinnamon whipped cream frosting. Swoon. And the gaming group declared the Cookie Dough Cream Pie (chocolate cookie crust, raw cookie dough, brown sugar custard, whipped cream) the most amazing dessert ever. The banana pie is chocolate cream, bananas, vanilla cream, whipped cream.

I can't wait until the good peaches come in and I can try the Peach Bourbon cupcakes.

The churro cupcakes sound MIND-BLOWING. Yum.

The cookie dough ones sound a lot like a cookie-dough-pie ice cream sundae I had over the weekend that absolutely blew me away.
