So it's been suggested to me by several different people that I join Good Reads and/or Library Thing. So people out there--should I? What advantages are there, exactly? What's really the difference between the two?
I'm on goodreads. Never tried Library Thing. I just use it as a log of what I read. I mean, there are features like feeds and friends pages and stuff like that, but I don't really use any of that.
I just got started using Goodreads first, and never started transitioning or using both. I need to, because there's advertising/marketing potential on both platforms that I need to exploit (Shelfari, too), but I hit Goodreads first, and so that's where I ended up staying.
I'm on Goodreads but haven't used it in a looong while. (Maybe I should go back to it.) It's useful for keeping track of what you read and seeing what your friends read.
Isn't Library Thing more for tracking books that you own? I'm on Goodreads. I use it to track what I've read and make recommendations, and follow some friends reviews and get other recommendations. Plus, there's the whole networking thing. When my book is out, I'll probably use Goodreads for some giveaways and promotion.
