Another foot of snow? Really? Did I move to New England and no one bothered to tell me?

I must say, though, whoever bought the tiny little Bobcat plows that they're using to plow out the public spaces like the sidewalks around the park and the plaza at the subway station was a fricking genius and deserves a medal. I'd wondered how they were keeping the public walkways so clear.

And I have to admit, the trees in the park this morning were incredibly gorgeous.

Though the school is closed today, the area in front if it is perfectly clear. I think they also cleared the area right in front of my apartment, and the front steps were clear. But that was it. There was no way to get from the steps to the street, other than climbing over a car-langth's worth of snowdrift, which is what I did.

The trees are really gorgeous this time. And yes, those mini plows are godsends.

I guess maybe there wasn't much wind last night? I don't remember having the snow piled so high on the branches the last few storms.

Yes -- the trees *are* really gorgeous, damn them. Especially now that the sun has come out and everything is brilliant white and the few inches of snow on branches haven't yet melted away.

And yet the snow missed us almost entirely. It's flurrying now, but the storm got you, not us. :-p

(I LOVE those little Bobcats. We have them to plow sidewalks here, and they're just so genius. And adorable!)

I saw one of those little plows on the sidewalk outside Mt. Sinai Hospital last night, and it was brilliant.

I love those mini-plows....except when one is coming right at me :-P

I had one sit and wait for me. He obviously wanted to plow the sidewalk I was on, but it was a long block and there was nowhere else for me to go. So he sat at the corner watching me trudge up the street. He was nice about it--smiled and waved and gestured for me to take my time.

Yeah - it always feels like a weird sort of Pacman game or something - I see it coming at me, and all of a sudden I'm like, "Oh no! which way, which way!" They do stop though, obviously, and let me go by.

They're kind of squat and round like Pacman, too.
