I sent a bunch of stuff to my brother and sister-in-law, figuring that if they were going to be deployed over the holidays, the least I could do was make sure they didn't feel forgotten. Several other family members had the same idea, also nice. Apparently, he's also been getting random packages from some random lady in Vermont who must have picked his name out of a hat, which he had been thoroughly enjoying.

Until a day or two ago, when suddenly the Operation Support Our Troops stuff started coming in. He got seven packages in one day. The next, the pile increased to 34.

His soldiers piled them all in front of his desk. He cannot see his desk. He has no idea what to do with it all, but he feels very supported indeed. Also, is the proud owner of a lot of cardboard.

I think he might be able to live off cookies alone for weeks. That'll teach him to ask us for cookies. :)

Dang. That is a LOT of stuff. Go Support Our Troops!

Also, yay cookies instead of mess-hall food!

Man. I hope all troops are so lucky!

I suspect your brother will be willing to share. Heck, if his wife sees a dearth of cookies at her base, a helicopter-load may find its way over.

Well, yes, but I sent her a big box, too...
