Ho?

Around 10:30 this morning, a parade of something like 50 Santas marched past our apartment. I have no idea why.

Tree is bought. Cookies sent to brother and sister-in-law in Iraq. Chuckro is apparently finished his wrapping, which I haven't started yet. So, need to decorate tree, buy wine, and wrap presents (two of which should arrive this coming week). Doing well on the Christmas front, I think.

When I was in the UK, a bunch of Santas marched past my apartment building in early December chanting, "What do we want?! CHRISTMAS! When do we want it?! NOW!" :-P

They were probably on their way into Manhattan. :)

I did think of that. They were most assuredly not on their way to Manhattan. The direction they were going in was in exactly opposite the direction you would go in to get to Manhattan by practically any route. My best guess was the beer garden, but I hadn't realized that the beer garden was open that early in the morning.

Some of them started to chant "Ho ho ho!" but others shushed them. I think they figured it was too early on a Saturday to be shouting in the streets.

Well, it's getting awfully close for ordering things, but you still have a reasonable amount of time to go to shops.

Ah, I believe this is connected to the picture my grad school friend posted today with the caption "thousands of drunk Santas in Central Park." I'll admit, it was pretty impressive.
