It's not so much that I have writer's block. There's no lack of words. It's just that they aren't going anywhere.

Keep writing about stuff happening until some of it matters?

It's terribly depressing to realize that nearly everything you're writing will have to be rewritten because you just can't seem to pin the character to the page.
