There were several things that had to happen today. That it would be disastrous if they did not happen. As of around 3:00, I was convinced none of them would happen.

They happened.

We had a couple bottles of champagne. (Split among a number of people. Not that much champagne per person.)

There's still a royal disaster proceeding on the other side of the world, but that's pretty routine for us here.

The nerve-wracking thing was that there was nothing I could do to influence any of them. Entirely dependent on people outside the museum to deign to do things. So we just sat here and chewed our nails. It's been a tough day.

Ugh. I know just how that feels, as a lot of my job is dependent on getting other people to do things on time...and when it's a freelancer who's in no way under my control, and whom I can't even go hover over? Nerve-wracking.
