Slept terribly last night. When I woke up at quarter to six anyway, I got up and tried exercising.
Now, I am not a morning person. I am the opposite of a morning person. I'm the kind of person who can't form full sentences for the first 45 minutes I'm awake, who pours cranberry juice in her cereal milk if not carefully watched, who will stare blankly at an apple without being able to comprehend what this round thing is and what one should do with it. But with the new 20 minute exercise video, I have the theory if I can only get blood moving in my brain when I first get up, perhaps I will be able to wish my husband a good day when he leaves for work in English instead of a simple and elegant language composed completely of grunting.
As I said, I was already awake today. So getting up earlier than usual was not too much of a hardship. But I was indeed shockingly awake by the time Chuckro left. (He was, in fact, shocked.) Whether I can manage this on days when I'm happily asleep when the alarm goes off is a bigger question.
I am definitely already seeing some results, which is gratifying.
- I'm only a little stiff now, instead of in ridiculous pain.
- My last few anterior lifts in the set, if not making it all the way to eye level like they're supposed to, are at least getting a lot farther away from belly button level (which was all I could manage the first day).
- Possibly TMI: I can get my sports bra off. (The second day, Chuckro walked in to find me bent over and kind of thrashing helplessly. One of my sports bras has a hook in the back, but the other is just stretchy. I physically could not reach my arm over my head to pull the sports bra over my shoulders, my shoulder muscles were so shaky. He had to drag it off me so I could get unstuck. I think I might have been there for some time, otherwise. It was truly sad.)
