Had a lovely dinner for a friend's birthday, which was highly enjoyable.

Less enjoyable? The walk home from the PATH station in the torrential downpour. In a skirt and heels and a silk scarf. Thanks to creative bagging, my scarf and Chuck's phone made it through without getting wet. But to keep them dry meant sacrificing my back. Every single thing I was wearing was soaked through. From the top of my head to my heels, my skin was literally dripping. I hope I didn't destroy my sandals. I'm really glad I thought better of wearing my red satin shoes.

I got caught on my way home from the supermarket.

I hope you weren't buying anything particularly vulnerable to soaking.

Nope. Groceries don't generally mind getting wet. People on the other hand...

Well, toilet paper might mind. Or a paper package of flour or sugar.

Oh man. I hate it when you head underground on one side and things are tolerable, and you come up to find the skies have opened up.
