I auditioned for a new writing group today, one that ecmyers put me in touch with. I got in! Hurray! They're really nice folks, and I like the writing of the other two people who we critiqued today, and they liked my story. (I mean, it still needs edits, but they thought it was nearly ready to go.) Whee!

I know. I loved our little group, and I'll still send stories your way if you want. But nearly half the original members are gone, and I'm the only one left writing. If nothing else, I need the regular meeting time to make me get off my butt and write the stuff bouncing around my head, and I need the push to get stuff out the door. I've actually got two pieces sitting on slushpiles right now, and a third that needs just a little clean up before it goes out into the wide world after them.

But I'll miss the old days, too.
