Seen at the museum

Today's fun sighting - a girl, maybe sevenish, in a long, simple light brown velvet dress (kind of the medieval monk look), orange and pink rain boots, and a plastic sword strapped to her hip. On one hand, totally inappropriate for a museum. On the other, I wanted to find a non-creepy way of saying, "Hey kid, you rock!"

The less said of this morning's meeting, on the other hand, the better.

At least I finally stopped agonizing over that query letter and submitted the damn thing. Fly, little query letter, fly!

Well, yes, but I'm a staffer. It requires detouring off my between-meetings path, interrupting her family on their vacation, and striking up a conversation. It wasn't like we were sitting next to each other on the subway. There really isn't a way for this not to be awkward.
