Successful ICon

The steampunk track at ICon has just exploded - all of the costume and jewelry dealers are carrying steampunk-themed items now, and I swear a quarter of the attendees seemed to have goggles this year. (The goggles-merchants struck it big.) Got a lot of compliments on my costume, including one very staid-looking 20-something gentleman who ended up geeking out with me over sewing techniques. (He wanted to know how gathering worked, and was surprised and delighted at how easy it is.) I'll try to post some pictures later.

Aside from the ego-stroking, I think my favorite part of the weekend was coming in second in the "Eye of Argon" reading competition, and being complimented on my straight face by Jody Lynn Nye. (Who's awesome, by the way.)
