Supermarkets rearranging their shelves.

Our supermarket is in the middle of a month-long (so far) renovation project. But from the middle, it feels like they're just moving things around at random to mess with us. Every time you walk in, you have no idea where anything is going to be. There are boxes inexplicably blocking aisles, rows of empty shelves, things piled randomly in the back.

My personal favorite is when I went last night in search of blueberries, I discovered that they had ripped out a chunk of the refridgerators for the produce aisle. There were no blueberries. The strawberries and raspberries (acceptable substitutes) were now piled on a non-refridgerated shelf. And so were faintly fuzzed with mold and buzzed with tiny fruit flies.

Umm, ewww.

I really hope they finish this up soon.

Uh...why not cut your losses and go to the Shoprite? It's a little farther, but there's no fuzz on the fruit.

It's a lot farther for those of us who don't have cars. Like 20 minutes. Have you tried carrying four days worth of groceries by hand for 20 minutes?

That's why you buy one of those wheely cart thingies. And I repeat - no fuzz on the fruit!

Ours doesn't usually have fuzz.

And I'm sorry, walking for 40 minutes round trip every few days is not really an acceptable solution.

Pathmark really is a nice supermarket, it's just chaos because of the remodeling. I stand my my comments about loving it, which I made the day after I moved in last August. Still so much better, in a number of ways, than the C-Town in Brooklyn.

Yes, at Pathmark we have duck instead of chicken feet. (It's also probably triple the size of C Town, which really, really helps.)
