The electricians have come and fixed the light that was making the incredibly irritating intermittant buzzing sound! Hurrah!

The on-going temperature war in my office between the people who are freezing (the side I'm on) and the people who complain on a daily basis about how hot and stuffy it is and demand that we all agree with them is currently being lost by my side. It's quite chilly in here. And my lovely new stripey blouse with the awesome pseudo-Victorian sleeves (an indication that steampunk's hit mainstream if I've ever seen one) really can't be worn to full effect with a jacket. But through cunning use of undergarments and vests, I have defeated the cold! Ha ha! (Well, mostly. My hands are still cold, but that can't be helped. I'm not wearing gloves in the office. But my core temperature seems to be ok, and that's the part that's important for being able to work.)

I have the opposite problem...I've been working downstairs as much as I can, because the rooms in the upper floor that I work in are boiling. Like, sometimes when I'm on a ladder lifting heavy things into cabinets I think I'm going to faint, boiling. Of course that's better than the other room, which the dog must have peed in at some point because it's both boiling *and* smells like roasted dog urine.

Yeah, I like working on the downstairs computer better. Plus it increases my chances that someone cooking in the kitchen will offer me a sandwich. (Yes, today I got paid in sandwich. Better than nothing.)
